In the 1980s, Mrs. Croakers purchased a pretty porcelain doll from an antique store in Jefferson, Texas. This shop still exists, it's called the Red Barn. That day, when she pushed open the front door, an old man seemed to be waiting for her. As she was looking at the ancient objects presented in the room, suddenly the old man pointed at a doll with the silver end of his cane and he told her that he had noticed that this doll was looking at her, which meant that she wanted to leave with her. . Hearing these words, Mrs. Croakers smiled and replied that the doll was too pretty for her to take home. Her daughter was still small and she would probably destroy her. The old man then looked into her eyes and told them that the doll wanted to come with her and love her daughter until the day she died. She would never bother them. The woman had the impression that the man was talking to her as if the doll was dictating her words. The asking price was ridiculously low for such an old doll, so, without really knowing why, Mrs. Croakers decided to buy it.
Everyone was surprised that Mrs. Croakers gave her daughter, Jasmine Elisabeth, such a pricey present when she was just six years old at the time. To those who wondered, she replied that the price did not matter, that the main thing was the happy memories that the doll would not fail to bring to them, to her as to her daughter. Of course, the little girl fell in love with her doll at first sight and named her Christina. No one ever knew why the little girl had chosen this first name, but her mother supposed that it was because of a grandmother she had never known.
Jasmine dragged her doll with her day and night. She sat him on the toilet lid when she took his bath, she took him to school and kindergarten. Then one day, Jasmine explained to her mother that the doll was bored and that she preferred to stay at home... When Christina's right leg was accidentally broken by Connie, her best friend, Jasmine cried all the tears in her body during hours. Hoping to console her daughter, Mrs. Croakers put a bandage on the broken leg but that didn't seem to be enough as the girl told her that the doll's leg needed a real funeral. Mrs. Croakers, flabbergasted by this strange idea, nevertheless decided to comply with her daughter's wishes. Her husband made a little coffin out of an old cigar box, then he cut two small handles out of the side. When she saw the small coffin, Jasmine told her parents that it was exactly like the one Christina envisioned. Then she advised her mother to put the pieces of the leg in the freezer and proceeded to call all her friends and elders in her family to tell them the news. She requested that they dress as usual and attend the funeral the following day. The girl said that her doll was mad at her. Not only because she had lost a leg, but also because the next day was Sunday and she believed that if they buried her that day, her leg would go straight to hell.
Over the next few months, Jasmine wore her doll constantly. Following Christina's orders, relayed to her by Jasmine, Mrs. Croakers was to change her dressing every day and check the wound for infection. Jasmine said that at night the doll woke her up complaining of phantom pains in her missing leg and her mother thought she had a lot of imagination. She had, at this point, never considered that the doll could be truly haunted. But one night, Jasmine woke her up screaming. She tells him that the pain in Christina's missing leg was intense, that the doll felt like fire ants were eating her. So, in the middle of the night, the devoted Mrs. Croakers got up from her bed and went to the doll's burial place, but when she got there, the tomb had disappeared. Instead, now stood a small mound of fire ants.
At that moment, she understood that Christina was haunted and she decided to take her away from her daughter. She locked the doll in an old chest in the attic and then explained to Jasmine that Christina had decided to go see her family and friends in England. The girl was then seven years old. The doll would stay in this trunk for years, until a paranormal investigator acquired it.
Since then, Christina has been living in Washington, and she is apparently happy, sitting on a small rocking chair that her new owner bought her. Sometimes she seems quiet, but at other times, when she is alone, she seems to be fidgeting, getting down from her small chair, changing her hand position or slumping to one side of her chair, as if sleeping. . Strangely, when his owner untangles his hair the next day, it looks just as tangled as the day before.
Christina enjoys watching TV, and she also enjoys having her picture taken, but not for too long. When it saturates, then it drains the batteries and batteries of the various devices nearby or the spirit that possesses it manifests through the photos, making them look strange and blurry.
